It is going to be an exciting year at Quigley Elementary with many new faces joining our school community. We have seven new teachers, a new student support services teacher, a new head secretary, a new Principal and over 50 new students! It is always an incredible opportunity when so many new people join a community and bring with them their unique backgrounds, experiences and knowledge. In fact, Quigley Elementary is a micro-cosm of what is happening in Canada right now - a convergence of many unique talented people. When we work collaboratively with one another, our diversity builds a stronger community.
We want Quigley Elementary to be a safe learning environment where every learner can find their passion and explore their full potential. We want to have fun and enjoy learning and playing with one another. We want to become life-long learners who embrace the challenge of making our world a little better place. Our students have so much potential - we just need to support them as they fully explore their options and develop the skills they require for the 21st century (collabortation, communication, creative and critical thinking)!
Our school improvement plan this year will focus specifically on two areas: developing growth mindsets and numerical sense. We look forward to working closely with students, parents, teachers, support staff and community members alike. Join our learning community and help make a difference.
Sit down, tighten your seat belts, and hold on tight!
