Dear Quigley Families,
As I begin my first September as Principal of Quigley Elementary, I remain deeply honoured to serve this vibrant school community. It continues to be a privilege to collaborate with our dedicated team as we support and guide our learners through a journey of inclusive, connected, and respectful learning.
The Quigley community is home to a strong, supportive network with an unwavering commitment to student success. We know it takes a village to nurture a strong sense of identity, belonging, and confidence in our students. We strive to create a learning environment that supports every learner to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
As we look ahead to the new school year, we are excited to build on this solid foundation with a continued focus on our learning priorities: Literacy and the development of our STAR attributes.
We know that strong literacy skills are foundational to success across all areas of learning. This year, we will place a particular emphasis on developing our students as confident, capable readers and writers. Through meaningful learning experiences, purposeful practice, and opportunities to share their ideas, we will support students in strengthening their literacy skills while aiming to foster a genuine love of reading, writing, and learning.
Alongside our academic learning, we will continue to develop and celebrate our STAR students, with a focus on Safety, Togetherness, Achievement, and Respect. These attributes reflect the kind of school community we want Quigley to be…a place where everyone feels safe, valued, included, and empowered to do their best. We will encourage students to demonstrate these qualities in their classrooms, on the playground, and throughout our wider community.
